Granada Hills: The Los Angeles Police Department’s, Valley Traffic Detectives (VTD) are investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision that killed a man in his early 20’s.
On October 17, 2024, around 9:50 p.m., a motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound Devonshire Street from Etiwanda Avenue. As the motorcyclist approached Louise Avenue, he failed to stop for a red tri-light and collided with a vehicle traveling northbound Louise Avenue. The motorcyclist was ejected onto westbound lanes of traffic on Devonshire Street as a result of the collision. A few moments later, the motorcyclist was hit by two vehicles traveling westbound Devonshire Street. The first vehicle was a white SUV, and the second vehicle was a white sedan. Both vehicles failed to stop, identify themselves, or render aid, as required by law.
The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male motorcyclist dead at scene. He is described as a white male in his early 20’s. His name is being withheld pending identification and notification of next of kin by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves. Motorcyclists are also reminded to obey the rules of the road and ride at a safe speed.
