Wilmington: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor Area detectives identified the suspect as 30-year-old Jose Jaime, a resident of Hawthorne.

On October 23, 2024, Harbor Area detectives arrested Jaime in the city of Hawthorne, where they also served a search warrant at his residence. Jaime was booked for 209(b)(1) PC: Aggravated Kidnapping, booking number 6906051, with a bail of $1,000,000.

Detectives Seek Public’s Help Identifying a

Sexual Battery and Attempted Kidnapping Suspect

Wilmington: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor Area are seeking additional information regarding the felony sexual battery and attempted kidnapping of an 11-year-old girl.

On October 21, 2024, around 3:15 p.m., the victim was walking near M Street and Gulf Avenue in Wilmington when the suspect approached her from behind, fondled her breasts, and attempted to remove her from the area. Nearby residents intervened, prompting the suspect to flee in his vehicle.

The suspect is described as a White or Hispanic male, 20 to 30 years old, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighs about 240 pounds. He was driving a gray Nissan Kicks with a spare wheel mounted on the rear passenger side.
