Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Traffic Collision NR24326kt

After the collision, the driver made several turns into various side streets then fled southbound Woodman Avenue. The driver then drove the vehicle to a parking lot in the 8900 block of Woodman Avenue where it was seen being towed on November 29, 2024.

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division detectives are investigating a hit-and-run collision that killed a 57-year-old man.

On November 27th, 2024, around 9:20 p.m., a white Dodge Charger was travelling westbound at high rate of speed on Terra Bella Street when it struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian was crossing Terra Bella Street at Dorrington Avenue in an unmarked crosswalk. The driver of the vehicle fled westbound on Terra Bella Street failing to stop and render aid as required by law.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene of the collision and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene of the collision.

The victim is described as a 57-year-old male, Hispanic. He has not yet been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
