"Officers Injured as a Result of a Traffic Collision"

On Monday, June 5, 2000 at approximately 11:15 p.m., Hollenbeck Area Patrol officers Ronald Chavarria, Serial #30816 and Rahsaan Fobbs, Serial #35451 were involved in a traffic collision. The officers were assigned to Hollenbeck Area, PM watch patrol, and were responding to a vehicle pursuit, back-up request at Daly Avenue and North Main Street. The officers were crossing the intersection in a marked, black and white patrol vehicle when a mid-sized white, van struck the patrol vehicle on the driver’s side door. Officer Chavarria sustained lacerations to his face and left arm. He also complained of pain to his lower back and left hip areas. Officer Fobbs sustained minor lacerations to his face. He also complained of pain to his back. Both officers were transported to USCMC for treatment. Officer Fobbs was treated and released. Officer Chavarria was admitted for further observation.
