Commercial Crimes Divisions Cargo Theft Unit and Los Angeles Port Police Recover $600,000 in Stolen Vehicle Chassis During Joint Operation NR25026kt

Los Angeles: On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Commercial Crimes Division Cargo Theft Unit (CTU), in collaboration with the Los Angeles Port Police Department, conducted a joint operation that led to the arrest of 25-year-old Denis Fuentes, a Gardena resident.

During the joint operation, authorities recovered 24 stolen vehicle chassis from a lot in the 14500 block of South Avalon Boulevard. The estimated value of the stolen chassis is approximately $600,000.

Fuentes was booked at LAPD’s 77th Jail for violating Penal Code 496(A) – Receiving Stolen Property. His booking number is #6963801.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests are expected as authorities work to prevent chassis thefts from the Port of Los Angeles terminals.
