Hit-and-Run Leaves Man in the ICU NR25042dc

Los Angeles:  Los Angeles Police Department South Traffic detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the suspect responsible for a felony hit-and-run traffic collision that left a man with severe injuries.

On January 29, 2025, at around 6:30 a.m., a dark-colored minivan traveling at a high rate of speed northbound Pacific Avenue near O’Farrell Street, struck a pedestrian crossing Pacific Avenue. The vehicle fled the location failing to stop, identify themselves, and/or render aid to the injured person as required by law.

Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department transported the 24-year-old male victim to a local hospital where he remains in the ICU.

Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a traffic collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
