"Gang Shooting Results in Multiple Victims"

Mid City: The Los Angeles Police Department, Wilshire Area Homicide Detectives are investigating a major shooting that occurred on Monday, September 4, 2000, at approximately 1:30 a.m.

Six victims were shot as they exited the French Quarters Super Club, 5047 West Pico Boulevard. The victims were approached by heavily armed suspects and shot for undetermined reasons. The Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics transported four victims to local hospitals. Two victims were transported to local hospitals in private vehicles. Two victims are listed in critical condition and scheduled for surgery. One victim is listed in stable condition and scheduled for surgery. Three victims were treated for gunshot wounds and released.

Multiple expended casings and live rounds were recovered at the crime scene and booked with related evidence. The suspects have not been identified at this time.

The victims are two female Blacks, 20 and 31 old and four male Blacks, 24, 24, 34 and 35 years old.

Suspect #1 was described as a male Hawaiian, 5′ 6", 200 lbs., 28 years of age, wearing red Hawaiian shirt. Suspect #2 was described as a male Black, 25-30 years old, shaved head, wearing red Hawaiian shirt. Suspect #3 and #4 were only described as male Blacks.

All four suspects were armed with unknown type handguns. The motive for the incident is appeared to be gang related.
