Detectives Seek Identity of Robbery Suspect

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in locating an armed robbery suspect.

On Wednesday, August 27, 2008, at around 6:30 p.m., a male suspect entered a liquor store in the 1600 block of North Avalon Boulevard in Wilmington.  The suspect posed as a customer then removed a handgun from his waistband when the store clerk opened up the register. The suspect demanded all of the money from the cash drawer then directed the clerk to open a second cash register located at the counter, removing its contents.  During the robbery, two male Hispanic males entered the store unaware that the robbery was in progress, and were also ordered to hand over cash and personal belongings.  The suspect then ran from the store northbound on Avalon Boulevard.

There were no injuries reported during this incident.

The suspect is described as a male Black, 6 feet tall, weighing about 275 pounds, with short braids.  He was last seen wearing a long sleeve white baggy T-shirt, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes and wearing a hat.

The handgun was described as a stainless steel semi-auto.
