Motorcyclist Killed in Solo Crash NR11371kr

Los Angeles:  A solo motorcycle crash caused the death of a 20-year-old Winnetka resident Tuesday afternoon.

On August 9, 2011, at about 4:30 p.m., Nima Safiei was driving a 2001 Yamaha R1 motorcycle northbound on Platt Avenue at Oxnard Street.  Safiei lost control of the motorcycle, veering right and off the roadway, colliding with a lamp standard, a power pole, and a wall.

Los Angeles City Fire Department Personnel responded and pronounced Safiei dead at scene.
