Angeles: On Thursday, October 28, 2004, Rampart
Area Sex Crimes Unit Detectives held a news conference asking for
the public’s assistance in locating a suspect who was wanted in
connection with the violent sexual assault, which occurred on
Saturday October 23, 2003.

On Sunday, October 31, 2004, Rampart Detectives received an
anonymous tip and arrested 21 year-old Julio Ceasar Rauda in
connection with the sexual assault. Rauda was positively
identified by the victim.

The Los Angeles Police Department would like to thank the public
who came forward with numerous tips, which ultimately led to the
suspect’s identification and arrest. The suspect is currently in
custody and 49 counts of aggravated sexual assault charges have
been filed against him by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s
Office.

Detectives believe there may be other victims of Rauda.
Therefore, his booking photograph will be released in hopes that
those victims will recognize Rauda and come forward. As always,
