Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations-Central Bureau City Services Committee will be holding a press conference to kick-off a week long neighborhood education on improving quality of life and a community clean up on October 7, 2002, at 10:00 a.m.
The City of Los Angeles is divided into four police geographical bureaus and each bureau has its own City Services Committee. The City Services Committee is to identify and prioritize each community’s problems, ensure a coordinated response to those problems, and improve quality of life in the community.
Participating Los Angeles City Departments will be providing extra needed City services in identified areas throughout Operations-Central Bureau.

Central Area has identified illegal vending as the problem for their community.

Rampart Area identified graffiti, gangs, and illegal vending as the problem for their community.

Hollenbeck Area identified gangs, graffiti, illegal dumping, narcotics and prostitution for their community.

Northeast Area identified graffiti, illegal dumping and narcotics for their community.

Newton Area identified graffiti, illegal dumping, narcotics, gangs and street lighting for their community.
