Why:
The Law Enforcement Cadet Program was established for the purposes of helping local youth develop leadership skills, teamwork, self confidence and an understanding of community service.

Over 400 cadets from throughout the city of Los Angeles will participate in this First Annual Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Fitness Challenge.  This event is designed to promote, physical fitness, teamwork, camaraderie and healthy nutrition.

The competitors will be tested on their cardio-vascular conditioning, quick reaction skills and agility as they maneuver through an intense obstacle course.  Participants will also learn about making healthy food choices from the Department’s Nutritionist and watch demonstrations from the LAPD’s SWAT Team.

The top five teams will receive awards and prizes for the top scoring team members.
