On December 7, 2011, 41-year-old Juan Jose Barajas was gunned down and killed on the front porch of his residence in the 400 block of Witmer Street, in the Rampart Area of Los Angeles.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Barajas was on the porch, in front of his apartment when suspects in a passing car suddenly opened fire.  Several shots were fired striking and killing Barajas. The suspects fled in a car that has been described as a gold colored sedan possibly Ford or Chevrolet. Barajas is not a gang member, and motive for this shooting is unknown.

Barajas worked for Farmers Insurance and was the sole provider for his wife and four children.  Farmers Credit Union has set up an account to assist the family with this tragedy.  Any and all donations will be greatly and sincerely appreciated.
