10-Year- Old Boy Seriously Injured by Hit-And-Run Driver

Los Angeles:  Los Angeles Police Department Central Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect involved in a hit-and-run collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.

On Tuesday, December 2, 2014, around 5:35 p.m., Central Traffic Division officers responded to a hit-and-run traffic collision that occurred at the intersection of North Main Street and Sichel Street.  The victim, a 10-year-old boy, and his 11-year-old friend were crossing North Main Street in a marked crosswalk when the victim was struck by a dark colored vehicle travelling southbound on North Main Street.  The victim’s 11-year-old friend was not injured.

The hit-and-run driver continued driving southbound on North Main Street, failing to stop at the scene to identify him or herself and render aid, in violation of 20001 VC, Hit and Run Felony. 

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.
