WHY: LAPD Central Traffic Division (CTD) will host the “Cops for Tots” toy give away to the bone marrow transplant unit. “Cops for Tots” is a tax-exempt, charitable organization that brings the community together in support of a worthy and noble cause. This year there are 24 children, ages ranging from infant to 18-years-old. The older children wrote letters to the officers with their wish list while the parents of infants are able to request needed items such as strollers and cribs. Each child receives $500.00 worth of merchandise from the funds and donations raised from the Cops for Tots Car Show, which is held annually during the summer. Many of the families live in the same community officers provide patrol.
