Lincoln Park Sexual Assault Suspect in Custody NR16161lp

East Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department Robbery-Homicide Division detectives worked through the night to identify and arrest a sexual assault suspect.

On May 9, 2016, around 12:00 p.m., the victim was walking through Lincoln Park in Hollenbeck Division, when the suspect approached her and attempted to strike up a conversation with her. The victim ignored the suspect and suddenly approached her from behind. The suspect held a gun to the victim’s head and forced the victim into a public restroom where he sexually assaulted her.

Detectives identified the suspect as 27-year-old Edgar Alexander Lobos. On May 10, 2016, Lobos was arrested for kidnap for rape and is currently being held on one million dollars bail.
