Resident Student Authors Book Signing Event “All the Way UP, It Begins Now”

WHAT: A Collaboration between the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA), the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Community Safety Partnership (CSP) Team, and Publishing Hope and Branding A+ Behavior (PHABB 5). We invite you to join us for a Resident Student Author (Ramona Gardens/Pico Gardens), Book signing Event.

WHEN: Friday, June 29, 2018 7:00p.m. – 9:00p.m.

WHERE: Casa Fina Restaurant 1842 E. 1st Street. Los Angeles, Ca 90033

WHO: Student Authors from Ramona Gardens and Pico Gardens Councilmember Jose Huizar, 14th Council District Deputy Chief Robert Arcos, Commanding Officer, Central Bureau Sergeant Monique Valenzuela, Officer in Charge, Community Safety Partnership Hollenbeck Community Safety Partnership Team, Ramona Gardens Representatives from Hollenbeck Division’s Community Police Advisory Board Representatives from the Housing Authority City of LA Father Greg Boyle

WHY: Join us, as we celebrate the first publication of the Resident Student Authors of the Ramona Gardens and Pico Gardens Housing Development. Illiteracy coupled with functional illiteracy has devastated underserved communities for far too long. The link between illiteracy and poverty is one that cannot be denied.

About the Anthology “All the Way Up” Eight Resident Student Authors (ages 13-16 years old), participated in a rigorous twelve-week creative writing book publishing program. The stories in this book are about characters wrestling with complex issues, who overcome adversity through perseverance.

Join us, as we showcase and empower our young Authors by listening to their stories. We invite you to bring your friends and family as the admission is free. There will be hors d’oeuvres and drinks provided. Though entry is complimentary, we have a suggested donation upon entry. Books will be available to purchase at the event.
