November 26, 2019 NR19295ti ***Update*** Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department were able to establish the identity of a hit and run driver. On November 19, 2019, the case was presented to the Los Angeles County District’s Attorney’s Office and they filed one count of 20001(b)(2) Felony Hit and Run with Severe Bodily Injury of the California Vehicle Code. On November 26, 2019, around 8 a.m., the Department’s Gang and Narcotics Division’s Fugitive Unit arrested 52-year-old Molly Jane Hoene on a warrant in the City of Palm Desert without incident. She is currently housed at the Los Angeles Police Department Metropolitan Detention Center under Booking No. 5808839. Hoene’s bail is set at $50,000.00.

***Update *** On October 30, 2019, at about 8:30 a.m., detectives received a tip that the Mini Cooper involved in the felony hit and run was at a collision repair auto body shop located at 6800 block of San Fernando Road in the City of Glendale. Detectives responded to the location and found a 2012 blue Mini Cooper that had collision damage consistent to the felony hit and run traffic collision mentioned below. Detectives are investigating, impounded the vehicle for evidence, and the vehicle will be forensically processed.

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department Central Traffic Division detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying a hit and run vehicle and its driver.

On October 25, 2019, at about 11:45 p.m., a possible early model Mini Cooper, red with a white roof, collided with a bicyclist in the 3000 block of Berkley Avenue.

After the collision, the driver failed to stop to render aid, identify himself or herself, and fled the scene in the vehicle. Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

The victim sustained severe injuries and was admitted into a local hospital where he is in stable condition. The vehicle is likely to have front end, hood, and windshield damage. Please see the video of the collision on LAPD CTD Twitter account, @LAPDCTD24.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
