WHY:

On Monday, November 23, 2020, around 5:55 a.m., a Fatal Hit and Run occurred at Union Avenue and Miramar Street. A tan, 4-door, 2000 to 2010 Toyota Corolla travelling northbound Union Avenue turned left onto Miramar Street. The victim, Mrs. Kuen Ham, 76-years-old, of Chinese descent, was crossing Miramar Street. The Toyota collided into Mrs. Kuen, knocking her onto the street and dragging her approximately 15-feet before she was dislodged. The driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid and to identify themselves. The Toyota Corolla is missing its hubcaps or has black rims.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported Kuen to a local hospital. Mrs. Kuen was admitted into the intensive care unit with life threatening injuries. On November 23, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Kuen succumbed to her injuries.

Central Traffic Detectives are requesting the community’s help in identifying the driver. Video, photos, and a sketch drawing of the driver’s facial image will be released.
