James Mylonakis

Bio

Captain Mylonakis was born and raised in New England, serving as a firefighter and emergency medical technician.

Captain Mylonakis moved to California in March 1997 when he joined the Los Angeles Police Department. During his tenure, he has served the city in various assignments, including but not limited to patrol, collision investigation, narcotics investigation, geographical area detectives, watch commander, and the Officer in Charge of the Homicide Special Section of Robbery-Homicide Division. He is currently assigned as the Commanding Officer of the Northeast Patrol Division.

Captain Mylonakis has earned a bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctor. He has also attended the Department’s Leadership Program and the Police Officer Standards and Training Management Course.
