Captain Tiffany Ayers, a Los Angeles native, is a 16-year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology & Physical Education and a Master of Arts degree in Education. Before becoming a Los Angeles Police Officer, Captain Ayers was a Certified Athletic Trainer at the high school, collegiate, and professional sports levels.
As a police officer, she served as a patrol officer, collision investigator, and detective trainee. In 2015, she was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, where she served as a field supervisor in Southeast Area and South Traffic Division, an officer-in-charge of the Senior Lead Officer Unit at Transit Services Division, and an investigator at Internal Affairs Division.
Promoted to Lieutenant in 2021, she was assigned to Harbor Area as Watch Commander. In 2022, she was selected as the Adjutant to the Deputy Chief of Operations-Valley Bureau.
Captain Ayers was promoted to the rank of Captain in 2024 and assigned to Harbor Area as the Patrol Commanding Officer.
She also serves as an Equal Opportunity Director in the California Air National Guard, where she holds the rank of Captain.
Captain Ayers is the First Vice President of the Oscar Joel Bryant Foundation, a department employee group representing African American sworn and civilian employees. She is a member of the Department’s Peer Support Cadre and holds basic, intermediate, advanced, supervisory, and management POST certificates.
Captain Ayers is a graduate of the LAPD’s Leadership Program, the California POST Management Course, and the DC Police Leadership Academy, Cohort 2024-1.
