Bio

Captain Marco Lozano has been serving the citizens of Los Angeles for 28 years.  Appointed to the Los Angeles Police Department in March 1994, he has successfully promoted through the ranks while working a variety of assignments.  His assignments have included patrol, narcotics and detectives.  Throughout his law enforcement career, he has worked closely with the business and residential communities of Los Angeles to improve the quality of life for all.  Over the years, not only has he worked a variety of patrol divisions such as Newton, Wilshire, Central, and North Hollywood but also the Anti-Terrorist Division prior to promoting to the rank of Sergeant.  Rounding out his experiences, Captain Lozano worked an administrative assignment at, Counter-Terrorism and Special Operations Bureau.  

In June 2015, Captain Lozano was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and was assigned to Central Area. He was assigned as a watch commander responsible for suppressing crime while serving the communities of Downtown Los Angeles.  He later promoted to the rank of Lieutenant II at Major Crimes Division in October 2016. In April 2019, he assumed the duties as the Officer in Charge of the Hazardous Devices and Materials Section.

Captain Lozano arrived at North Hollywood Division June 2021, and assumed the duties as the acting Patrol Commanding Officer. On October 10, 2021, Captain Lozano was promoted to Captain, North Hollywood Patrol Division. Captain Lozano arrived at Foothill Area October 23, 2022 and assumed the duties as the Area Commanding Officer.

Captain Lozano grew up in the Southern California area. After graduating from Santa Fe High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.  Four years later, after completing his commitment honorably, he applied to the Los Angeles Police Department to serve the citizens of Los Angeles.

Captain Lozano earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Management from Union Institute and University.  He has also graduated from the Delinquency Control Institute at the University of Southern California, the West Point Leadership Program, the Sherman Block Leadership Institute, the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy and the Los Angeles Police Department Command Officer Development Program.  

As a dedicated husband and father, Captain Lozano believes in the importance of building and maintaining strong family bonds.  He has woven this virtue into the fabric of his success with the Los Angeles Police Department.  He enjoys vacationing with family and friends, while doing outdoor sporting activities.
