Captain Christopher Mayberry was born and raised in Los Angeles County, California. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration.
Captain Mayberry joined the Los Angeles Police Department in 1995 and he has worked a variety of patrol, undercover, and investigative assignments at various divisions including Southeast, Wilshire, Hollywood, Newton, Southwest, Hollenbeck, and Central Areas. Throughout his career, Captain Mayberry has held the rank of Police Officer, Police Officer III, Police Detective, Police Sergeant, Police Lieutenant, and Police Captain.
In 1998, Captain Mayberry was assigned to Wilshire Area as a Field Training Officer. During that time, he worked a variety of assignments, such as, Patrol, Special Problems and Narcotics. In 2006, Captain Mayberry promoted to the rank of Police Detective and he was assigned to Hollywood Area. Captain Mayberry was a case carrying detective and spent several years assigned to Hollywood Homicide. In 2009, Captain Mayberry promoted to the rank of Police Sergeant and was assigned to Newton Area. In 2010, he was assigned to Southwest Area, where he was the Officer-In-Charge of a Federal Bureau of Investigation – Gang Task Force. In 2015, Captain Mayberry promoted to the rank of Police Lieutenant and was assigned to Newton and Hollenbeck Areas. During that time, he worked as a Patrol Watch Commander and the Commanding Officer of Hollenbeck Detective Division. In 2023, Captain Mayberry was promoted to the rank of Police Captain and was assigned to Central Area. In 2024, Captain Mayberry was upgraded to Captain II at Force Investigation Division, where he is currently assigned.
Captain Mayberry is married and has three children. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, travelling, snowboarding, snowmobiling, scuba diving, motorcycle riding, camping, and exercising.
