Emergency Command Control Communications System (ECCCS) Division liaises with all public agencies, private entities and City departments regarding all associated law enforcement emergency communications. This division is responsible for developing and maintaining the Department’s highly critical emergency radio and dispatching systems.

Some of ECCCS functions include:

Oversees the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system at the City’s two Communications Dispatch Centers

Developing, planning, maintaining, and auditing use of the radio frequencies assigned to LAPD by the (Federal Communications Commission (FCC)

Reviewing, evaluating, and prioritizing all requests for the acquisition of new radio communications equipment

Maintaining inventory and tracking of Department-issued handheld and mobile radios and vehicle mobile digital computers (MDCs)

Planning, maintaining, and auditing the City’s primary and alternate 9-1-1 Public Safety Answer Point (PSAP) and P1Mobile support

Maintenance of the LAPD’s department wide Wi-Fi communication network

Set up and maintenance of planned Command Post deployments

Support of all geographic mapping enterprise systems
