Pacoima: Los Angeles Police Department Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the identification and arrest of the suspects responsible for fatally shooting 18-year-old Michael Kelly, and seriously injuring a second male.

On February 15, 2019, around 8:00 p.m., Foothill Area patrol officers received a radio call of “Shots Fired” in the 12800 block of Van Nuys Blvd. Upon arrival, they observed a male (later identified as Michael Kelly) laying on the ground in the parking lot. He was unconscious and not breathing, suffering from a gunshot wound. A second male was also located with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced Kelly dead at scene. The other male victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

Preliminary investigation revealed both victims entered the parking lot, being fired upon by a male Hispanic, in his early 20s, from the passenger window of a black sedan.
