Fatal Shooting in Pacoima NR20051ll

Pacoima: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau Homicide Division are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect(s) responsible for the shooting death of a man and injuring another.

On February 22, 2020 around 12:20 a.m., Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Division responded to a shooting call at the 12700 block of Montague Street.

When officers arrived, they discovered the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the location and rendered aid but the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The deceased victim was identified as Omar Medina, 27, a resident from Pacoima A second victim was located at a local hospital. He is described as a male Hispanic in his 30’s and suffered a gunshot wound to the neck. He is expected to survive.

Both victims had attended a party, where a cockfighting operation had taken place. During the event, an argument ensued between at least two attendees and a shooting occurred. Multiple individuals fled the location. No witnesses remained at scene.

Detectives from Valley Bureau Homicide responded, along with officers from the Animal Cruelty Task Force. The rear yard was converted into a cock-fighting pit and several dead roosters were discovered throughout the yard. No arrests have been made.
