Los Angeles: Every year the President of the United States declares a National DARE Day. President George W. Bush proclaims Thursday, April 10, 2003 as DARE Day for America. This year DARE will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary of helping children resist drugs and violence.
This year, in conjunction with National DARE Day, DARE Division of the Los Angeles Police Department and the Department of Defense are planning a special recognition for our armed forces and their dependants. This event will highlight the children whose heroic parents are fighting for our country overseas. The children will present a special salute to their parents, which will include a military fly-over, patriotic songs and a special "USA aerial spell-out".
Anyone with questions regarding this event, contact Sergeant Jack Dillard, Dare Division 213-485-4856.
