Why: Public’s Help Needed to Solve Case

Harbor City: On October 20, 2001, Mr. Choon Monkoong was at his place of business located on the 1200 block of West Lomita Boulevard in Harbor City. Two male Blacks entered the store and an argument erupted between Namkoong and the suspects. The confrontation moved and continued outside the store and where it culminated with the suspect(s) fatally shooting Mr. Namkoong.

The suspects have not been arrested. No weapon has been recovered.

The Los Angeles City Council is offering a $25,000 Reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible for the shooting death of Mr. Namkoong.

Harbor Area Operations Support Division Homicide Detectives are conducting the investigation.
