"Harbor Family Seeks Help In Finding Their Missing Son"
 
San Pedro – On Saturday, June 30, 2001, the Los Angeles Police Department along with the Rivera family will hold a press conference at Harbor Community Police Station. The Rivera family reported their 28-year-old son missing on June 29. Their son suffers from mental retardation and severe seizures, and without daily medication and assistance, their son could die. Their son, Richard Vasquez is a male, Hispanic, 5’7", 125 lbs., and has the mental capacity of an 11-year-old. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans, and black boots.
The Rivera family told Officers that he walked away from their house at the 1200 block of West "M" Street in Wilmington. In the past his mother reported that he has walked to the local AM/PM store, but could not be found there on June 29th. Richard’s mother also stated that he likes to go to the local toy stores and Kmart.
The Rivera family is asking the for the public’s help in finding their son. The family will be at the press conference with a current photograph of Richard.
