Two Women Shot and Killed in Harbor Area

TWO WOMEN SHOT AND KILLED IN HARBOR AREA

On Monday, January 31, 2000 at approximately 11:30 p.m., a double homicide occurred in the 700 block of West 15th Street, San Pedro, California. Cher Mitchell, 23, who was standing next to the passenger door of a vehicle, was talking to Melody A. Brewer, 17, who was sitting inside the vehicle, when an unknown male gunman approached them and opened fire. The suspect then fled the scene on foot, running eastbound on 15th Street. LAFD Paramedics responded and pronounced the victims dead at the scene. The motive is unknown at this time. The suspect is described as a male, with no further information.
