"An Argument Leads to a Fatal Shooting"

San Pedro – On Saturday, April 22, 2000 at approximately 1:23am, five individuals exited the 7-11 Market at 837 South Gaffey Street. Two individuals unknown to them initiated an uninvited conversation with two female juvenile members of the group. An argument ensued between the male members of both groups. One individual armed himself with a handgun and fired several shots at the group of five who had exited the Market. One person was fatally wounded and died at the scene. No other persons were injured as a result of the shooting.

The suspects fled the scene in a possible 1990’s Chevrolet truck, black or blue in color. Suspect #1(shooter) is described as a male Hispanic, black hair, 18/23 years of age and wearing light colored clothing and a possible sweater. The second suspect, driver of the getaway vehicle, is described as a male Hispanic, 18/20 years of age with close cropped hair. Both suspects and the murder weapon have not been located.

The victim has been identified as Marlon Alfaro, a 21 year old male Hispanic.
