"Two Victims Shot and Fighting For Their Lives"

Harbor – On Saturday, May 27, 2000, two victims were stopped and waiting for a red phase tri-light (eastbound) on 25th Street at Patton Avenue. The suspects pulled their vehicle parallel to the victim’s passenger door and began firing several times into the victims’ vehicle. Victim-1, male, Black, 19 year old, Travon Green was struck in the head. Victim-2, male, Black, 18 year old, Jabari Meader was struck in the abdomen. The victims were transported to local hospitals by LAFD paramedics and are listed in critical condition.

The suspects fled in a possible 1990’s, Toyota van, light blue in color. Suspects are described as male, Hispanics.

Harbor Homicide Detectives are handling this investigation. Anyone with information to this incident is asked to notify Harbor Detectives at (310) 548-7621.

UPDATE:

Harbor Homicide Detectives are going to be holding a press conference today, May 28, 2000, at 4:00 p.m., on the corner of 25th Street and Patton Avenue. The Suspects description is going to be released, this suspect is possibly involved in other shootings that have occurred in the Harbor/Wilmington area.
