Fatal Hit and Run in Pacific Division NR17016im

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department West Traffic detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect involved in a hit and run that killed a 24-year-old man.

On January 12, 2017, around 2:00 a.m., a newer Toyota Corolla was travelling eastbound on Venice Boulevard when it collided with a pedestrian, a 24-year-old man who was crossing in the middle of the roadway. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and render aid to the pedestrian, as mandated by law.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the 24-year-old male dead. The next of kin has not yet been notified. This is an ongoing investigation and unfortunately there are no further details available.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
