WHY:   
The Los Angeles Police Department will graduate 43 police officers, with 26 males and 17 females.  The ethnic breakdown of the graduates is as follows: 15 Caucasians, 14 Hispanics, nine African American, three Asians (two of which are Korean) and two Filipinos.  Graduating officers have completed 920 hours of training over the course of 24 weeks.

Two additional graduates will be public safety officers at the University of Southern California.
