Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department Northeast Area (LAPD) and the mother of 3 year-old Elizabeth Day are requesting the public’s help in locating her.

Elizabeth’s mother Jenna Johnston, and the father Galen Michael Day have joint custody of their daughter with specific visitation rights as ordered by the Family Court.  Mother Johnston resides in Los Angeles while the child’s father Galen Day lives in Atlanta Georgia.  The child stays with each parent for 2 weeks at a time however, when the father did not return with the child on May 11th, Johnston contacted her attorney and a revised child custody agreement was entered into by both Day and Johnston.  The new agreement stated that Day would return the child no later than June 6th, but when Johnston attempted to make contact with Suspect Day a few days prior to the new agreed upon return date she was unable to reach the father by phone.

On June 8th the mother received an e-mail from Suspect Day stating that he would be returning to Los Angeles with Elizabeth on June 10th via Delta Airlines at 3:30 p.m. Johnston contacted the airlines to confirm the flight, arrival time and terminal number.  During her inquiry with the airlines she was advised that Johnston and the child had rescheduled to a later flight now arriving LAX at 10:30 p.m. in Terminal 5.  Johnston and a mutual friend to both she and the father, arrived at the airport and waited in the baggage claim area for Day and her daughter Elizabeth to arrive.  The flight arrived and there was no sign of Elizabeth or Suspect Day.  Johnston inquired with the airline to ensure that Day and her daughter were on the scheduled flight.  The airline confirmed that both Day and her daughter had boarded the flight in Atlanta and did arrive in Los Angeles.  Johnston waited for hours and eventually located the Suspect’s luggage along with her daughter’s but no sign of her daughter or Suspect Day.  Johnston claimed the baggage and went home to wait for a call from the father.

Johnston’s friend who went with her to the airport, received a call around 11:15 a.m. on June 11th from Suspect Day.  Day told the mutual friend that he and 3 year-old Elizabeth were in a hotel somewhere in Los Angeles and that he would not disclose his location nor did he care to speak with Elizabeth’s mother.  Day then hung up the phone and has not been heard from since.

The child, Elizabeth Day is a 3 year-old, female, Caucasian, with brown hair, brown eyes, 30 inches tall and weighs 45 pounds, thin with a dark complexion.

Suspect Galen Michael Day is described as a 41 year-old, male, African American, with brown hair and brown eyes, 5’-10”, 165 pounds, medium build with a medium complexion.  He is believed to be driving a 2011, red Ford Mustang, with a California license of 6LRN864.

Anyone with information about this crime or the whereabouts of Elizabeth Day, or her father Galen Michael Day,  is asked to contact Northeast Area Police Station at 213-485-2563.  During non business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7.  Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).  Tipsters may also contact Crime Stoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone.
