Vic Davalos, Commander

email Commander Vic Davalos was
born and raised in Los Angeles. He joined the Department in 1988
and rose through the ranks of Police Officer, Detective, Sergeant,
Lieutenant, and Captain. His nearly 32-year career includes
assignments in patrol operations, investigations, communications
and technology, and administration. In September 2013, he promoted
to Captain I and served as the Commanding Officer, Pacific Patrol
Division. In September 2014, he promoted to Captain II and served
as the Commanding Officer, Recruit Training and In-Service
Training, Training Division, in February 2016, he promoted to
Captain III, Commanding Officer, Training Division, in January
2018, he served as the Commanding Officer, Recruitment and
Employment Division, in February 2019, he became the Commanding
Officer, West LA Area. In January 2020, he was selected as
Commander and assigned to Operations-Central Bureau.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from California
State University, Los Angeles, and an Executive Master of
Leadership degree, as well as, a Graduate Certificate in Public
Management, from the University of Southern California (USC). He
also completed the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards
and Training Supervisory Leadership Institute, the West Point
Leadership Program, the Federal Bureau of Investigation National
Academy, Executive Strategic Management, Senior Management
Institute for Police, the Safe Communities Institute, USC, Conflict
Resolution for Law Enforcement, Straus Institute, Pepperdine
University, and the Force Science Certification Course, Force
Science Institute. He has been married to his high school
sweetheart for 32 years and they have two adult sons. He enjoys
travelling with his family.
