Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department West Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect involved in a hit and run collision that critically injured a pedestrian.

On Tuesday, May 9, 2017 around 9:10 p.m., officers from West Traffic Division received a radio call of a vehicle versus pedestrian hit and run traffic collision at the 11600 block of National Boulevard. The officers’ investigation revealed that a black compact vehicle was traveling north bound on Barrington Avenue when the vehicle collided with the victim as she was crossing National Boulevard. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene without identifying himself or herself and did not render aid to the victim, as required by law.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the location and transported the victim a local area hospital where she is listed in critical condition.

The hit and run vehicle is described as a black compact. The investigation is ongoing.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
