Woman Killed in Seven-Vehicle Collision NR13533rh

December 18, 2013

Los Angeles:  Chain reaction collision leaves one victim dead and another hospitalized.

On Monday, December 16, 2013, around 11 p.m., Valley Traffic Division Officers were called to investigate a seven vehicle, fatal injury traffic collision that occurred on Ventura Boulevard, east of Corbin Avenue in Reseda.

According to investigators, a 1999 Ford Taurus being driven east on Ventura Boulevard collided with several stopped vehicles that were waiting at the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and the southbound Ventura Freeway onramp.  This chain reaction collision involved a total of seven vehicles.

Los Angeles Paramedics Personnel responded to the scene to render aid to the injured parties.  A woman in her sixties, who was driving a blue 2003 Saturn Ion, was pronounced dead at scene by paramedics.  Her name will not be released until next of kin can be notified.

The driver of the Ford Taurus was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.  Three other people, who were not hospitalized, received minor injuries as a result of the collision.

It appears that speed was a factor in this collision.  The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.  No arrests have been made at this time.
