Robbery Spree Suspect Caught on Tape NR14394nv

October 23, 2014

Sylmar and Pacoima Areas:  Los Angeles Police Department Robbery-Homicide Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect(s) responsible for six robberies that occurred in the Sylmar and Pacoima areas.

The robbery sprees took place between August 28, and September 9, 2014, at local markets.

On September 9, 2014, around 8:30 p.m., the suspect entered a small market located in the 13500 block of Glenoaks Boulevard and handed a bag to the clerk.  The suspect pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded that he fill the bag with money, at which time the clerk recognized the suspect from a previous robbery.  The clerk, who had been robbed and shot by the suspect 10 days earlier, armed himself with a handgun.  During an exchange of gunfire the victim was injured.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic.  He stands 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 185 pounds.  The suspect made his demands in both English and Spanish and wore a ski mask during all the robberies.

Video surveillance revealed a second suspect (no further information at this time) and the getaway vehicle. The vehicle is described as a light colored 2013-2014 Nissan Altima.  The vehicle had several distinct features including dark wheels, custom black grill, tinted tail light lenses, black fuel door, fog lights, and a sunroof.
