Two Suspects Wanted for Murder NR18009ti

January 15, 2018

Sylmar: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing information that will lead to the arrest of the two suspects responsible for the murder of 31-year-old Gregory Baltazar, a resident of Sylmar.

On January 11, 2018, around 9:00 p.m., Mission Area patrol officers received a radio call of an Assault with a Deadly Weapon shooting, man down, near the 13600 block of Simshaw Avenue. When officers arrived, they discovered the victim down at scene with multiple gunshot wounds.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at scene.

Valley Bureau Homicide personnel responded and processed the crime scene. The preliminary investigation revealed the victim resided at the location with his extended family. Two unidentified males knocked on the front door of the residence just before 9 p.m. Baltazar answered the door and began arguing with those individuals. One of the male suspects shot Baltazar numerous times and fled the location with his associate. Neither of the male suspects have been identified. This appears to be an isolated incident, and the victim most likely knew the suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
