Mission Area Internet Exchange Safe Zone NR19020ne

January 30, 2019

Mission Hills: The Los
Angeles Police Department, Mission Area, has seen an uptick of
recent crimes involving internet transactions. Mission feels these
types of crimes can be avoided by educating the public to safe
zones for such transactions. Mission Area Community Police Station,
located at 11121 N. Sepulveda Blvd Mission Hills, CA 91343 has been
designated as an internet exchange safe zone. We are continually
working to ensure the safety of the residents in our community and
are urging that you conduct these transactions during our normal
business hours between 7a.m.-11p.m. Please try to avoid selling
your property during late night hours, also if you can’t make it to
the police station remember these tips:

-Insist on meeting at a public meeting place like a café, bank or
shopping center
-Tell a friend or family member where you are going
-Consider bringing somebody with you when you complete the
transaction
-Be careful of getting pressured into conducting the transaction
quickly
-Make sure you have your cell phone with you and that it is
sufficiently charged

Anyone with information regarding crimes involving internet related
sales transactions is urged to call Det. Thomas Barnhart, Mission
Area Robbery detectives, at (818) 838-9810. Anonymous tips can be
