Los Angeles: A little after 1 PM this afternoon, an 11-year-old neighborhood boy reported he had been abducted by a man, then sexually assaulted, near the Colden Oaks apartments in the 200 block of Colden Avenue.
Thankfully the victim escaped from the abductor and is being treated at a local hospital.
The Los Angeles Police Department is asking the public’s help in solving this terrible crime. The suspect was described as an African-American man between the ages of 15 and 18. He is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and wearing a gray shirt, with blue thermals underneath, and blue jeans. The initial information was the suspect was wearing a ski mask and was armed with a gun.
Los Angeles police officers and Los Angeles fire fighters were at scene within a few minutes of the call to 9-1-1.
Extra uniformed officers as well as detectives were dispatched to search for the suspect within a large crime scene from 95th Street to Colden Avenue, and Broadway to Main Street. Bloodhounds have been deployed to the scene to search for the suspect’s scent, as well as forensics experts from our scientific lab to analyze evidence. Fortunately these types of incidents are rare, but when they do occur, the LAPD spares no resource.
Every effort will be made to find the person responsible, and the LAPD hopes that someone in the community might recognize the description of the suspect today and call police.
