Los Angeles: Southwest Homicide Detectives are investigating the shooting death of a 15 year-old male Black.
On Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at 9:40 p.m., a 15 year-old boy was standing with a group in front of an apartment building located in the 4000 block of South Vermont Avenue. Two suspects walked up to the group and said, "Where you from?" The gunman, a male Black, 18-20 years of age, pointed a handgun and fired several times, striking the victims. Both suspects ran away from the location.
The second suspect is described as a male Black 18-20 years of age. Both suspects are affiliated with a local gang.
The 15 year-old victim died at the scene. Additional victims who were shot were taken to a local hospital by Los Angeles City Fire Department personnel and treated for their injuries.
The motive for the shooting and the suspect’s identities is unknown at this time.
