"15 Year Old Victim Dies from Gang Related Shooting"

Los Angeles – Hollenbeck Homicide Detectives are investigating the gang related shooting death of a male, Hispanic, approximately 15 years of age. On Monday, July 31, 2000 at approximately 10:40 p.m., the victim was standing in front of the residence located at 2746 Boulder Street talking with two friends. As the victim was engaged in a conversation with his friends, four male Hispanic suspects approached their location in a red, 4 door, compact vehicle eastbound on Boulder Street from Mott Street. When the suspects reached the victim’s location, the front passenger of the suspects’ vehicle fired two rounds from a 380 semi-automatic handgun. The driver of the suspects’ vehicle continued passed the victim’s location approximately 30 yards and stopped. The front passenger then fired additional seven rounds at the victim, striking him in the head. The suspects then fled the location eastbound on Boulder Street and continued southbound on Forest Street.

Los Angeles City Rescue Ambulance responded to the crime scene and transported the victim to USC Medical Center for emergency medical treatment. Subsequently, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 11:00 p.m. on July 31, 2000.
