17 Year Old Gang Member Arrested for Murder

Los Angeles: On February 6, 2003, at 12:30 p.m., Foothill Area Homicide Detectives arrested a 17 year-old suspect for the February 3rd gang-related murder of 17 year-old James Quinteros Caldera. Caldera died from a gunshot wound to the head that was sustained during a gang-related shooting in Pacoima. Caldera’s friends transported Caldera to Holy Cross Medical Center after the shooting but Caldera was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Homicide Detectives, following up on a lead, identified the suspect and working with officers from the Foothill Area Gang Detail, quickly located the suspect in the 12300 block of Osborne Place. The suspect was arrested in the vehicle described as being used in the shooting.
The 17 year-old suspect was booked for Murder and is being held at Sylmar Juvenile Hall.
