$175,000 Reward Offered For Murder Suspects

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department, AT Systems
West, Inc., Bank of America and the Office of Councilmember
Benard C. Parks will be conducting a news conference to announce
a reward offer of up to $175,000 leading to the arrest and
conviction of the persons responsible for the death of 61 year
old armored car guard Evelio Suarez.

On March 1, 2004, at about 10:50 a.m. at least eight male and
female suspects armed with assault type weapons shot and killed
Mr. Suarez. As Mr. Suarez unloaded money from the armored truck,
several suspects opened fire on him and he was struck multiple
times. The suspects left with an undisclosed amount of money in a
white van with an unknown type logo on the side. Mr. Suarez was
transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

AT Systems West, Inc. is offering a reward of up to $100,000.
Federal Bureau of Investigation is offering a reward of $25,000.
Bank of America is offering $25,000 and the Los Angeles City
Council has approved a $25,000 reward at the request of
Councilmember Bernard C. Parks. The reward is for any information
that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspects
responsible for the death of Mr. Suarez.

Mr. Suarez was 61 years old and is survived by his wife, ten
children and sister. He was employed by ATS as an armored car
guard for the past eighteen years.
