Los Angeles: Yesterday evening two brothers were playing inside their residence when the youngest brother was fatally injured.
On July 9, 2010, at around 5:50 p.m., Devonshire area patrol officers responded to a radio call of an “Ambulance Shooting” in the 16700 block of Parthenia Street. When officers entered the residence they saw a 2-year-old boy suffering from a single gun-shot wound to the upper torso.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the boy to a local hospital where he died from his injury.
Devonshire Homicide Detectives responded and conducted interviews with the involved family members. It was determined that the victim’s 9-year old brother had accidentally shot his brother while playing with a loaded firearm. No charges are pending at this time.
Victim’s name is being withheld until next of kin has been notified.
