Los Angeles: On Thursday, November 28, 2002, at approximately 8:05 p.m., Foothill Area patrol officers responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon investigation in the 11600 block of Remington Street. Upon arrival, the officers were directed by family members to the garage portion of the residence. The officers discovered 21 year-old Jose Luis Banda on the floor. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced Banda dead at the scene.

Upon arrival, the officers were directed by family members to the garage portion of the residence. The officers discovered 21 year-old Jose Luis Banda on the floor. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced Banda dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Banda was inside the garage listening to music when unidentified suspect(s) approached the residence and fired a possible semi-automatic pistol though the door striking the victim.
The motive for this shooting is unknown at this time.
