Los Angeles: Rampart Homicide Detectives are investigating the murder of a Hispanic man, approximately 23 years of age.
On November 21, 2007, at around 2:30 p.m., Rampart Area patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the 100 block of West Kensington Road. Upon arrival witnesses told the officers that an unknown suspect walked up and fired several times into a parked gray car and struck a victim who was seated in the front passenger seat. The suspect then ran northbound towards Douglas Street. An unknown person entered the gray car and drove off southbound from the location.
Approximately 10 minutes later, a related call was received in the 1700 block of West Temple Street, at the City Of Los Angeles Medical Center, of a victim of a shooting inside of a gray car. The officers responded to the location and saw the victim down inside the car. The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The victim has been identified as Moses Salinas of Los Angeles.
The motive for the shooting is unknown. The suspect and weapon remain outstanding.
