Los Angeles: Police are seeking the public’s help in finding any witnesses who may have either observed the collision or who may have observed the driver or the car matching the description of the hit-and-run car.
On February 6, 2005, at approximately 2:05 a.m., Julio Rudy Rodriguez, a 24-year-old resident of Los Angeles, was riding his bicycle eastbound on 8th Street at Dacotah Street when he was struck by an unknown car travelling on the same street. The impact of the collision caused Rodriguez’s bicycle to collide with a parked car. Rodriguez landed on the hood of the hit-and-run car as it continued eastbound on 8th Street, then fell on the street.
Rodriguez sustained a head laceration and broken bones. He was taken to the USC Medical Center where he was treated by the emergency room staff. Mr. Rodriguez’s condition worsened and he died two days later.
